    Who we’re looking for

     

    Toyota’s Paint Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Paint Engineer - Process.

     

    The primary responsibility of this role is to manage paint processes and projects and support daily operations in the Paint Department.

    Reporting to Paint PE Managers, the person in this role will support the Paint department's objectives as they relate to the following:

    What you’ll be doing

    + Project Management

    + Process Management

    + Working in Team Environment

    + Quality, Cost, Safety and Productivity Enhancement

    + Environmental Compliance related to functional areas

    + Daily and Weekly Reporting

    + Working with outside vendors and suppliers

    + Schedule coordination for project support and weekend work

    + Weekend work support (working on potential weekends)

    + Shutdown work and coordination (including working and support)

    + Production Daily issue support and resolution

    + Working cross shop and cross NAMC for kaizen and yokoten

    + Position will be responsible for supporting production for daily quality issues, leading projects and working on cost reduction activities related to the Paint Department goals/objectives.

    + Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to perform short to mid-term planning for specific/multiple paint related production processes, and projects are a must.

    + The ability to track data and report out to colleagues, management and Sr. management are also skills that should be strong.

    What you bring

    + Bachelor’s Degree or above or 3+ years of equivalent professional experience in an automotive manufacturing environment

    + 3 or more years of automotive paint experience in a manufacturing setting

    + AutoCAD experience, including the ability to read, interpret and modify both 2D and 3D drawings

    + Microsoft Excel

    + Microsoft PowerPoint

    + Microsoft Project, including the ability to create, read and interpret Microsoft Project schedules

    Added bonus if you have

    + 3 or more years of Toyota experience (as a Team Member or Contractor)

    + Experience with anticorrosion paint processes such electrodeposition

    + Experience with seam corrosion and water infiltration protection.

    + Experience with anticorrosion paint processes such body cavity wax

    + Experience with paint application, and quality KPI’s related to paint color and surface quality.

    + Experience with oven curing of body paint materials

    + Experience measuring film build thickness on body coatings

    + Environmental KPI tracking, waste management knowledge.
