Summary This position is located at Fort Detrick, Maryland. Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will not be paid. Responsibilities As a Lead Recreation Assistant, works under the administrative and technical supervision of the Recreation Specialist (Program Manager). Serves as shift manager during absence of Recreation Specialist (Program Manager). Tasks or projects are performed with a minimum of supervision, and incumbent independently performs regular and recurring work. Assigns work by defining objectives, priorities, and deadlines and provides guidance to other staff. Assist in the planning/establishing of objectives and goals for the facility. Instruct customers in the proper use of equipment and programs within area of responsibility. Issues/receives recreational equipment to authorized users. Sets up recreational areas for on-site events. Helps plan, conduct, publicize, and arrange support for a variety of sponsored special events, social activities, tournaments and related functions. Collects applicable fees for items issued, accounts for monies, safeguards funds and makes daily deposits. Cleans and performs minor maintenance on facility equipment. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Resumes must be two pages (or less). A qualified candidate must possess the following: Work experience or education directly related to the duties to be performed. In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" or "Best Qualified": Possess one (1) year of experience working in an Army MWR Recreation Program? Experience MUST be clearly reflected on your Resume at the time of application to be considered. Applicants meeting the Highly Preferred criteria will be referred first to the Selecting Official. All other applicants may be referred for consideration at managements request. Allowances and Differentials This job is part of a pay-banded system. Sunday premium pay for regularly scheduled employees and night differential pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
