Role SummaryThe Senior Project Manager plays a vital role supporting T. Rowe Price’s state-sponsored 529 plans through ad hoc project management (e.g. investment lineup changes, Advisor-sold omnibus opportunities, etc.), ownership and oversight of state-sponsored plan programs and reporting, and the facilitation of data-driven industry analysis and insights.
The Senior Project Manager serves as the end-to-end project lead for large-scale, complex projects requiring cross-functional collaboration. Drives benefit achievement by leading project initiation, planning, execution, and the defining of key success measures. Responsible for project management activities, including contingency/dependency tracking, status reporting, issue/risk identification and tracking, scope management, and internal/external stakeholder management. Provides oversight to workstream/task leads within the project; resolves any escalated project risks, issues, and dependencies. Manages the overall scope and timing of the project, ensuring business value is delivered on time and within budget.
Responsibilities
+ Oversees end-to-end project management activities, with oversight for the full project life cycle. Assigns cross-functional workstream members and manages the progress and contributions of the working team to ensure all activities deliver expected value within committed time frames. Manages contingencies between multiple workstreams and monitors interdependencies and synergies.
+ Establishes and reports on the program’s governance (e.g., sponsors, approvers, stakeholders) and project progress. Effectively anticipates and mitigates major risks across the project life cycle. Proactively crafts feasible solutions to combat risks and issues.
+ Monitors project results/performance for significant deviations, evaluates options, and makes recommendations for corrective actions; implements selected actions. Recommends improvements and changes as necessary.
+ Owns critical state partner programs and plan reporting, including requirements, timeline management, governance and oversight of third parties, value delivery, and communication. Identifies and addresses potential issues, resolving them in a timely manner.
+ Builds relationships and trust with stakeholders through consistent communication and delivery of high-quality outcomes through attention to detail and thorough knowledge of 529 product and related programs.
+ Partners with third-party recordkeeper to ensure adherence to established requirements, timeline, and execution of various state-sponsored incentive programs, aimed at increasing account owner contributions to 529 plans.
+ Partners with the College Savings Data Analyst to ensure data integrity and quality assurance of plan and regulatory-required deliverables by validating data, uncovering potential issues and/or opportunities for refinement.
+ Leverages data analytics and industry acumen to solve business challenges. Distills complex data into actionable insights and business solutions.
+ Summarizes results visually (e.g. PPTX) and communicates ideas to business partners (including state partners); translates technical concepts into plain language clearly and succinctly.
+ Critically analyzes results and processes to uncover opportunities to better service clients and streamline business operating procedures.
+ Compiles data-driven industry and competitive analysis including current and future trends to inform strategic business decisions and plan innovations.
+ Supports investment enhancements through direct partnership with the Multi-Asset team.
QualificationsRequired:
+ Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and relevant experience AND 5+ years of total relevant work experience
+ Strong communicator, critical thinker and problem solver
+ Intellectually curious, detail-oriented and adaptable to change
Preferred:
+ Business Intelligence or Data Analytics experience, including knowledge of data management tools (e.g. Snowflake, SQL, Qualtrics, Python)
+ Excel and PowerPoint experience
+ Proven ability to drive outcomes when requirements are unclear
+ Industry knowledge and experience (strongly preferred)
FINRA Requirements FINRA licenses are not required and will not be supported for this role
Work Flexibility This role is eligible for hybrid work, with up to one day per week from home.
Base Salary Ranges

$94,500.00 - $161,000.00 for the location of: Maryland, Colorado, Washington and remote workers
$103,000.00 - $177,000.00 for the location of: Washington, D.C.
$117,000.00 - $201,000.00 for the location of: New York, California
Placement within the range provided above is based on the individual’s relevant experience and skills for the role. Base salary is only one component of our total compensation package. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus , which is determined upon company and individual performance.
