Team Gilbert has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated professional to fill the position of Aquatics Facility Technician.
The Aquatic Facility Technician ensures the safe and compliant operation of aquatic environments through skilled maintenance, inspection, and repair of pools, splash pads, and related systems. This role monitors water quality, calibrates chemical controllers, and maintains accurate chemical logs to meet health and safety standards. The technician performs general trades work—including plumbing, electrical, and general construction—and oversees the upkeep of mechanical systems such as pumps, valves, and filtration units. Responsibilities also include coordinating with contractors, supporting capital improvement projects, and maintaining inventory of tools and supplies. By operating specialized equipment and adhering to safety protocols, the technician helps sustain clean, functional, and welcoming aquatic facilities.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
+ Performs general maintenance work on aquatic facilities: performs skilled, semi-skilled, and manual work involving cleaning, maintenance, and repair of swimming pools, fountains, splash pads, and associated equipment and facilities; maintains water quality and proper chemical levels in pool water; performs preventive maintenance work as needed.
+ Ensures that operation and maintenance of aquatic facilities and equipment are in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, standards, and health codes; initiates any actions necessary to correct deviations or safety hazards.
+ Conducts inspections of aquatic facilities, equipment, and pool water to identify deficiencies: inspects/tests equipment and parts for proper operations; makes adjustments, repairs, or replacements as appropriate; reports problem situations.
+ Maintains proper chemistry of water in swimming pools, splash pads, water features and fountains: calibrates and adjusts chemical controllers; tests water quality; adds chemicals to pool water as needed; maintains daily chemical logs; responds to chemical spills at pools.

The anticipated schedule for this position is Wednesday - Sunday, 6:00AM - 2:30PM.
About You
The ideal candidate for this role will have hands-on experience in aquatic facility operations, including water chemistry, mechanical systems, and general building maintenance. They should be skilled in interpreting technical documents such as blueprints and equipment manuals, and capable of performing a wide range of maintenance tasks with precision. A strong team player, the candidate must be able to prioritize tasks, remain calm under pressure, and deliver excellent customer service in a dynamic environment. Certification as an Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO) is required within 120 days of hire, ensuring compliance with industry standards. This role demands a proactive, safety-conscious individual who can support both routine operations and special projects with confidence and technical expertise.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
+ High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.).
+ One to three years previous experience and/or training involving aquatic facility operations, commercial pool maintenance/repair, water chemistry, mechanical maintenance, and general building maintenance.
+ Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.
LICENSING/CERTIFICATIONS:
+ Certified Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO) certification within 120 days of hire date.
