Job Title: Patient Services Operator
Job Description
The Patient Services Operator is responsible for answering and routing inbound calls and messages to hospital or medical staff. This role involves dispatching routine and critical clinical messages and vital patient statistics to designated hospital staff, monitoring and reacting to alarms and codes, and maintaining accurate on-call schedules for departments and physicians.
Responsibilities
+ Answer incoming calls in a courteous manner and accurately direct each to the appropriate department or individual while maintaining an average answer time of 99%.
+ Accurately page notifications based on the situation or request to the appropriate personnel.
+ Answer, document, and relay information related to the medical answering service accurately.
+ Monitor, communicate, and forward information pertaining to codes, alerts, alarms, and drills according to established policies and protocols, including disaster management plans.
+ Input and delete account updates or notations that supersede outdated account notations and alert management to problems that could result in negative customer service through hardware/software deficiencies or protocol changes.
+ Exercise independent judgment in making minor decisions where alternatives are limited and standard policies/protocols have been established.
+ Work directly with patients, customers, internal and external customers, and other healthcare professionals and staff.

Work Environment
The work environment involves direct interaction with patients, customers, and healthcare professionals. The role requires flexibility in work shifts, including the possibility of working on weekends and holidays. The position demands the ability to manage stressful situations while maintaining a professional demeanor. An accurate typing speed of 40 words per minute or higher is required.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $18.00/hr.
