• Billing Analyst

    TEKsystems (Downers Grove, IL)


    Position Overview

    Seeking a detail-oriented Billing Operations Business Analyst with prior experience directly or indirectly working with utility providers to optimize its Oracle billing platform. This role is critical in ensuring accurate and timely billing for all customers by identifying and resolving billing anomalies such as unbilled accounts, delayed invoices, and system backlogs. The analyst will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive system improvements and enhance billing performance.

     

    This role will onsite 3 days a week & candidates must be comfortable with the commute to local office.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Analyze billing data within Oracle to detect patterns and issues related to unbilled or delayed accounts.

    + Prepare and present operational, performance, and financial reports for internal stakeholders and external partners.

    + Manage and interpret large datasets to support strategic decision-making.

    + Investigate root causes of billing discrepancies using Excel and billing tools.

    + Contribute to IT and billing-related projects by gathering requirements, validating test scenarios, and supporting change management efforts.

    + Troubleshoot operational and technical issues, coordinating with relevant departments to implement solutions.

     

    Qualifications & Skills

    Required:

    + Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, or a related field.

    + Minimum of 5 years of experience in billing analysis or utility billing systems.

    + Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

    + Strong understanding of utility billing processes, including rate structures, payments, and service orders.

    Preferred:

    + Experience with Oracle and/or smart meter systems in a regulated utility environment.

    + Excellent communication and analytical problem-solving skills.

    + Experience directly or indirectly with a utility provider.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.
