Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the Division of Oncology in the Department of Pediatrics at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure clinician educator track. Expertise is required in the specific area of pediatric leukemia and lymphoma. Applicants must have an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree. Board-certified or board-eligible in pediatric hematology/oncology.
Teaching responsibilities may include didactic and clinical instruction of medical students, residents, post-doctoral fellows, instructors, and/or clinical research assistants and educational liaison with advanced practice providers.
Clinical responsibilities may include inpatient and outpatient care focused on children, adolescents, and young adults with hematologic malignancies at the Philadelphia University City Hospital and active involvement in fellowship training and mentoring. The ideal candidate will also have interests in early phase clinical trials of precision medicine therapeutics for children with relapsed/refractory or high-risk leukemias. This position is not intended for applicants with primary clinical interests in cellular immunotherapy or hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. The candidate must have at least two years of experience as an attending physician after completion of fellowship training.
Research or scholarship responsibilities may include expanding translational and clinical research efforts in pediatric hematologic malignancies. The successful applicant will be academically productive, collaborative, and able to expand our already robust research enterprise. The successful candidate must have an established record of peer-reviewed scholarship and extramural grant funding and is expected to have 50% independent research effort funding within three years of appointment.
