Postdoctoral Associate
**Required Qualifications:** (as evidenced by an attached resume)
PhD (or foreign equivalent) in Molecular and Cellular Biology or a closely related field. 2 years Postgraduate experience in mechanistic biology and molecule development.
Preferred Qualifications:
Peer-reviewed and published research paper.
Postgraduate experience in mechanistic biology and molecule development.
Therapeutic procedure from mechanism discovery to clinical biomarker validation.
At least one first author publication.
Brief Description of Duties:
The Postdoctoral Associate will assist the Principal Investigator Dr. Markus Seeliger (https://www.pharm.stonybrook.edu/faculty/s/seeliger) in the department of Pharmacological Sciences (https://www.pharm.stonybrook.edu/) . The incumbent will conduct research and ensure that all experiments are appropriately conducted following the policies and procedures of Stony Brook University.
• Perform independent research related to the development of enzyme inhibitors
• Instruct and train graduate and undergraduate students.
• Write research reports and research support funding applications.
• Career development (attending relevant courses and conferences).
• Other duties as assigned.
Special Notes:
The Research Foundation of SUNY is a private educational corporation. Employment is subject to the Research Foundation policies and procedures, sponsor guidelines and the availability of funding. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Minimum salary threshold must be met to maintain FLSA exemption.
