The Barnes Center at The Arch is Syracuse University's integrated health and wellness center which incorporates counseling, health, health promotion and recreation. The Director of Recreation Programs and Facilities is a core member of the Health and Wellness leadership team, reporting directly to the Associate Vice President for Health and Wellness. The Director manages and oversees the day-to day operations, maintenance, and programming of recreation facilities and staff, ensuring a safe, positive environment.

This role involves supervision of a recreation staff to include full-time time employees and student staff. The Director is also responsible for strategic planning, budget management, risk management planning, and overall maintenance of the facility in collaboration with Syracuse University facilities staff. The Director develops and implements quality assurance initiatives and works closely with the other Barnes Center units to implement holistic and integrative approaches to student wellness.
