Position Summary

Ensure right part, right time, and right quantity availability of raw material at our plant per production schedule.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

Standard Duties:

+ Management of purchased part parameters in the MRP systems (lead times, min buy quantities, reorder points, safety stock); review and management of supplier advanced shipping notice (ASN).

+ Ensure supplier shipments are done on time, following escalation process as necessary.

+ Establish requirements for materials releases for the supply base; calculate part requirements using SIOP and SAP; manage supplier schedules and internal manufacturing work orders.

+ Manage part level days-on-hand (DOH) inventory and ensure accurate perpetual inventory records.

+ Negotiate with suppliers on delivery and quantity terms and expediting.

+ Manage transactional logistics and eliminate any need for premium freight.

+ Manage pull production systems for manufactured and purchased parts.

+ Manage supplier compliance with corporate initiatives

+ Work closely with the production teams to determine short term strategic plans.

+ Manage enterprise resource management systems and coordinate with other areas as needed.

Additional Information:

+ Travel is occasionally required, up to 5% of the time.

Safety and Physical Requirements:

+ All employees are responsible for knowing, understanding, and complying with the safety policies and procedures.

+ Wear PPE in designated campus areas.

+ Lifting shoulder high up to 35 lbs. on occasion.

Key Competencies

Functional/Technical Skills Business Acumen Decision Quality Drive for Results Process Management

Education & Experience

+ High School diploma/GED or basic skills assessment required.

+ Bachelor’s degree in related discipline preferred.

+ 1+ automotive industry experience preferred.

+ 1+ year’s customer and supplier relations management preferred.

+ MRP/ERP systems experience preferred.

+ Excellent written/verbal communication skills.

+ Proficient in: MRP systems (Vanguard), MS Office, etc.

+ SAP experience preferred
