    Job Description

    Assistant/Associate Director, Athletic Communications

     

    Reporting to the Assistant AD for Communications this position is responsible for communications utilized for recruiting, rosters, print and digital initiatives of the athletics program through the design and layout of various creative elements, including but not limited to recruiting graphics, brochures, traditional and digital ads, social media graphics, and website management. This role provides creative design content, communications for Boston College’s Athletics programs and social media channels. The role will be assigned primarily to the Men’s Basketball program with additional support of Olympic Sports.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Concept, design and produce traditional, digital and video graphic materials.

     

    Collaborate with communications, marketing and creative services. departments to ensure synergy between all parties.

     

    Assist digital and communication departments with editing, developing, creating and implementing social media campaigns throughout the year

     

    Coordinate, design, implement and execute photo shoots for prospective student-athletes.

     

    Work with outside graphic and print vendors when necessary.

     

    Recruit, train and oversee group of creative/ graphic design student workers

     

    Help develop, implement and manage the athletic program’s media and digital brand

     

    Ensure that visual content is delivered to clients at sufficiently high speed and quality

     

    Working knowledge of and adherence to all University, ACC and NCAA rules and regulations

     

    Follow established departmental policies and procedures for procurement of goods and services

     

    Ability to work events, nights, weekends and holidays

    Title and salary commensurate with relevant experience based on the following titles and full-time equivalent hiring ranges:

    - Associate Director: $65,550 - $81,950; 5+ years related professional experience

     

    - Assistant Director: $59,400 - $74,250; 1-5 years experience

    Requirements

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Requires a Bachelor’s degree in journalism, public relations, communications, sports management with focus on photography, graphic design, and short form video production.

     

    For the non-senior level, requires 1-5 years of experience in working in a college athletic department or professional sports team in creative graphic design.

     

    Strong written and communication skills

     

    Experience with a sports team

     

    Working knowledge of Adobe After Effects

     

    Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator

     

    Ability to handle multiple projects at a time with tight deadlines

     

    Be creative, innovated and original

     

    Pays attention to detail

     

    Ability to work in independently and in team orientated settings

     

    Ability to work long hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays
