    Summary

    The individual in this role will be responsible for managing capital projects, overseeing facility maintenance, and providing engineering and operational support for the Duluth Plant. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the plant’s infrastructure and systems operate efficiently, safely, and in alignment with business objectives.

    Essential Job Functions include, but are not limited to the following:

    + Plan and coordinate repairs and manage the maintenance department.

    + Oversee the maintenance and supply support with operational personnel management.

    + Manage capital projects; from justification through installation.

    + Support operations; with mix of Process, Project, Industrial, Structural, and Plant engineering.

    + Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement regarding operational costs.

    + Purchasing of MRO supplies and developing department budgets.

    + Assure EH&S compliance, with emphasis on OSHA regulations.

    + Provide operational, engineering and management support for the Duluth operations.

    + Perform other related duties as required.

     

    Minimum Required Qualifications

     

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

    Education and/or Experience

    + Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Structural Engineering required.

    + Minimum 2 years’ project management, supervisory, or related experience.

    + Minimum 2 years’ experience in industrial or manufacturing maintenance.

    Physical Requirements

    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

     

    + Must be able to walk on uneven surfaces 95% of the time (irregular floors, loose aggregate, ramps, mud, snow and ice surfaces) (daily); stand for up to 6.5 hours/day (regularly); lift up to 50lbs (regularly); climb stairs up to 3.5 floors at a time. Multiple configurations of stairs (daily); climb ladders (30 ft. high max ) (daily); climb inclines ramps (150’ max. at 15% grade) (daily); bend over and walk under low roof structures (regularly), climb and crawl on top of hoppers and bins (occasionally); enter confined spaces (regularly); walk and climb at elevations (daily); ride in man lifts- JLG units with fall protection (occasionally); climb into mobile equipment via steps and ladders (front-end loaders, dozers, forklift and skid steers) (daily); wear dust masks (occasionally); good hearing and vision (daily); manipulate hand and foot controls (daily); sit at a desk and work on computer or process paper work for 6.5 hours (occasionally)
