We are currently seeking a Network Engineer to support operations in Charleston, SC. This is a full-time CONUS position requiring an active DoD Top Secret Level clearance.
This position may be subject to the Service Contract Labor Standards Act (SCLS)/Service Contract Act (SCA).
What You’ll Do
+ End-to-End Systems Integration: Integrate diverse network operating systems, applications, and hardware platforms through full lifecycle systems engineering—including requirements specification, architecture design, coding, testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance.
+ Project Design and Management: Support or lead overall project planning and execution, including technical architecture, cost estimation, scheduling, and consideration of operational and social impacts related to implementation.
+ Nexus Operating System (NX-OS): Administer and configure Cisco Nexus switches running NX-OS, with a focus on data center networking, virtual port channels (vPC), and Layer 2/3 functionality.
+ Routing Protocols Expertise: Deploy and troubleshoot dynamic routing protocols such as OSPF and BGP to ensure efficient, scalable, and redundant network operations across complex infrastructures.
+ Equipment Installation & Cable Management: Perform professional-grade installation of network equipment with a focus on precision and reliability, including meticulous cable management that adheres to industry best practices and facilitates long-term maintenance.
What You’ll Bring
Required Qualifications:
+ Education & Experience:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
+ Minimum three (3) years of IT professional experience overseeing the creation of hybrid software, web and hardware products from initial specifications to final rollout and maintenance
+ Technical Expertise:
+ Proven experience integrating diverse network operating systems (e.g., NX-OS), hardware platforms, and application software through the full system lifecycle—from specification and design to implementation, testing, and sustainment.
+ Familiarity with Cisco Nexus platforms and proficiency in configuring and managing environments running the Nexus Operating System (NX-OS), particularly in data center or enterprise-scale networks.
+ Strong understanding of dynamic routing protocols, with hands-on experience implementing and troubleshooting Open Shortest Path First (OSPF) and Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) in complex network topologies.
+ Demonstrated ability to contribute to or lead overall network project planning, including developing technical designs, estimating costs, managing schedules, and addressing any operational or stakeholder concerns.
+ Hands-on experience with physical network equipment installation, including best-practice cable management to ensure clean, secure, and maintainable infrastructure deployments.
+ Certifications:
+ Must have a current and active DoD Top Secret security clearance.
+ Individual will be working toward the relevant certifications within one and a half year after assuming duties:
+ Professional Software Engineering Master (PSEM)/ Certified Software Development Professional (CSDP) or with COR approval
+ Complete a vendor/platform specific certification
+ Microsoft role-based certifications
+ Microsoft Certified Applicable Developer (MCAD)
+ Microsoft Certified Database Administrator (MCDBA)
+ Red Hat Certification Program (RHCP)
+ CISCO Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
+ CISCO Certified Design Professional (CCDP)
+ Oracle Certified Professional (OCP)
+ VMWare Certified Professional (VCP)
+ Cloud certifications, etc
+ Proficient with modern IT tools and infrastructure technologies
Travel & Passport
+ Up to 20% travel CONUS may be required; some overnight weeklong trips are possible.
Work Environment
+ Compliance with vaccination and medical requirements for TDY/OCONUS roles as per Vaccine Recommendations by AOR | Health.mil.
Office setting:
+ Primarily an office-based role in Charleston, SC
+ Standard desk/computer work with flexibility for walking and movement on site
+ Must be able to work in an office environment, sitting at a desk, looking at a computer for most of the workday.
+ Work is physically comfortable; the employee has discretion about sitting, walking, standing, etc.
+ May be required to travel short distances to offices/conference rooms and buildings on site.
