    Position Title:

    Music Teacher - Vocal - Short Term

    Anticipated Employment Date:

    Anticipated Work Location/Hours:

    Grand Island High School 7:25 AM to 2:25 PM

    Salary:

    Per diem $170 with increase/retroactive to collective bargaining agreement after 40 days.

     

    Brief Description of Position

     

    -New York State Certification in K-12 Music Education required.

     

    -Possess skills and ability to teach and lead choral groups and provide vocal lessons.

     

    -Ability to use assessment to differentiate instruction and improve student achievement.

     

    -Familiarity of the New York State Learning Standards for the Arts in relation to music education.

    Qualifications/Skills/Abilities Required:

    -Ability to use authentic and traditional assessments to differentiate instruction and improve student achievement.

     

    -Evidence of academic success at undergraduate and/or graduate levels.

     

    -Strong written and oral communication skills.

     

    -Demonstrated strong work ethic and dedication to student success.

     

    -Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

     

    -Evidence of positive classroom management skills.

     

    -Evidence of ability to work productively and collaboratively with students and families.

    Qualifications/Skills/Abilities Desired:

    -Experience teaching high school students.

     

    -Experience teaching students with special education needs.

     

    -Strong skills in using technology to support instruction.
