About this Job
The inaugural Director for the Center for NW Louisiana Regional Impact will work with the LSUS Chancellor’s office team and community partners developing, leading and coordinating a range of projects and initiatives enhancing the University’s partnerships with the community. The newCenter for NW Louisiana Regional Impactwill serve to connect community needs with faculty and student expertise. The Director will facilitate connections between community and campus, assisting LSUS to better serve as a resource for business and industry and governmental entities throughout the region, addressing changing regional economic and workforce needs and supporting the growth of Northwest Louisiana. This is a full-time, salaried/exempt position, with occasional evening and weekend hours required, reporting to the LSUS Chancellor. Minimum Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
+ Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
+ Five years of experience relatable to the mission of the Center and with specific accomplishments that demonstrate an ability to succeed in this position.
+ The ability to quickly develop a network of contacts within the economic development community and governmental professions.
+ Effective professional writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.
+ Ability to analyze data, track outcomes, create, and adjust strategy.
+ Must be a hard-working, creative, and team-oriented individual with excellent organizational skills.
+ Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
+ Must hold a valid driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Master’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
+ Widespread knowledge of NW Louisiana’s business and economic development climate
+ An understanding and appreciation of the role of a regional comprehensive public university.
+ Ability to work both independently and effectively with multiple stakeholders.

Job Duties and Other Information
Duties & Responsibilities
+ Collaborate with leaders in the business and economic development community, Chambers of Commerce and government, looking for ways in which LSU Shreveport might productively partner with those entities to the betterment of the community and the benefit of our faculty, staff and especially our students.
+ Develop an initial list of challenges confronting businesses and communities in NW Louisiana and where possible, match those challenges to LSUS faculty, staff, and student expertise.
+ Compile a content-area expert database including LSUS faculty and staff, along with a database of key contacts in the fields of business, government, and economic development throughout the NW Louisiana region.
+ Prepare regular reports that articulate areas of concern from the NW Louisiana community and opportunities for partnering with LSUS.
+ Work with the LSUS Academic Affairs leadership to create a robust "Study Away" program that will be managed within each college, with the goal of providing students with service-learning opportunities by working with area businesses, and other entities primarily within NW Louisiana.
+ Serve as a representative and liaison for LSUS and the Chancellor’s Office with the community and community events.
+ Other duties as assigned.
Physical and Environmental Demands
Light Work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly (Constantly: activity or condition exists 2/3 or more of the time) to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for Sedentary Work. Even though the weight lifted may be only a negligible amount, a job should be rated Light Work: (1) when it requires walking or standing to a significant degree; or (2) when it requires sitting most of the time but entails pushing and/or pulling of arm or leg controls; and/or (3) when the job requires working at a production rate pace entailing the constant pushing and/or pulling of materials even though the weight of those materials is negligible.
