    About DTMB:

    The Department of Technology, Management and Budget (https://youtu.be/H\_IrVnVjcoA) supports the business operations of state agencies through a variety of services, including building management and maintenance, information technology, centralized contracting and procurement, budget and financial management, space planning and leasing, construction management, motor vehicle fleet operations, and oversight of the state retirement systems.

    About this position:

    This position functions as a specialist for the Capital Outlay Program for the Department. This position is the point of contact for the State Budget Office and state agencies receiving Enterprisewide Funding for capital projects. This position is responsible for legislative reporting on capital outlay funded college and university projects. This position is responsible for recommending program policies and procedures and for coordination of statewide capital funding by coordinating, tracking, and reporting on $120+ million in projects and contracts annually. This position also analyzes and determines corrective actions to facilitate contractual payments to vendors and oversees and reports on collection of administrative fees for the Design and Construction Division.

    Position Location:

    This position is located in Lansing, MI. This position may work a hybrid (remote/office) schedule with 2 days required in the office per week. Selected candidates who have been approved to work a hybrid schedule must complete that work within Michigan. Candidates should confirm work location and schedule at the time of interview.

     

    In accordance with federal law, all new employees must provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States within three business days of beginning employment . DTMB Human Resources uses E-Verify in conjunction with the federal I-9 form to verify authorization of employment.

     

    Required Education and Experience

    Education

    Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major.

    Experience

    Four years of professional experience, including two years equivalent to the experienced (P11) level or one year equivalent to the advanced (12) level.

    Equivalent combinations of nonprofessional experience, identified by the appointing authority and approved by Civil Service that are represented by subclass codes, will be accepted for classified, professional experience equivalent to the P11-level and above. The nonprofessional experience must be related to departmental programs and services that provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

     

    Certain positions may be assigned subclass codes and individuals appointed must possess the required specialized experience.

    Preferred degrees include finance, accounting, and auditing.

     

    Preferred experience includes proficiency with SIGMA (or similar system) Financial Management module, experience with transactions necessary for contract encumbrances and payments to vendors, and general accounting practices.

    Paid Parental Leave:Eligible employees can take 12 weeks of paid leaveimmediately after a birth or adoption to allow needed time together at home with a new child.

     

    Paid Holidays:Eligible employees receive 13 or 14 paid holidays each year including New Year’s Eve and Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Presidents’ Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, the Fourth of July, Labor Day, Election Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving, Thanksgiving Friday, Christmas Eve and Day.
