    Job Description

    A leading facilities services company is seeking an experienced Azure Architect to join its team in Bogotá, Colombia. This role is responsible for designing and maintaining the enterprise Azure architecture for NorAm, ensuring alignment with global standards and business objectives. The Azure Architect provides expert guidance, leadership, and support in cloud technologies, collaborating with other architects to deliver cohesive system architecture and drive continuous improvement of existing solutions and the Azure technology portfolio. Acting as a subject matter expert, the position involves training, technical workshops, and hands-on involvement throughout the project lifecycle—from initiation and scoping calls to solution design, security approvals, and handover to DevOps and application teams. The architect supports 4–5 concurrent projects, prepares design packages, and troubleshoots escalated issues (Level 3) when needed. Additional responsibilities include maintaining accurate documentation, participating in architect rotations, and providing on-call support. While not directly deploying infrastructure, the role requires connecting to Azure for log reviews and troubleshooting. The position follows Scrum methodologies, including sprint stand-ups and task updates in DevOps boards, and plays a key role in delivering scalable, secure, and innovative cloud services across NorAm lines of business.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • 65% – Design and document the overall Azure enterprise architecture for NorAm, identify gaps, propose remediation strategies, and ensure compliance with global standards.

    • 20% – Research emerging technologies and recommend improvements or replacements to enhance business value.

    • 10% – Lead Azure project implementations through hands-on work and by directing engineering teams.

    • 5% – Serve as an escalation point for Azure engineers to resolve complex technical issues.

    Skills and Requirements

     

    Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or equivalent experience.

     

    7-10 years of experience working in an IT environment.

     

    5+ years of architecture and engineering experience in Azure.

     

    Deep understanding of IT infrastructure compliance and management controls.

     

    Proven ability to lead cross-functional meetings and assign workloads effectively.

     

    Advanced problem-solving skills and ability to overcome technical obstacles.

     

    General knowledge of financial principles and ethical standards.

     

    Ability to present IT concepts and budgets to business stakeholders.

     

    Proficient in English (verbal and written). Proficient in Microsoft Visio

     

    Skilled in creating engaging presentations and PowerPoint decks

     

    Experience working in Azure within an Agile/Scrum team environment
