    Description

    Job Summary:

    To perform precision honing and internal finishing\. May be required to assist higher and lower grade Operators\.

    Job Responsibilities:

    + Works from blueprints, shop routers, written and oral instructions\.

    + Sets\-up and operate Horizontal and Automatic honing machines to perform precision honing and internal finishing\.

     

    - Set upper and lower limits, spindle RPMs\.

     

    - Choose and set up the correct fixtures, mandrel, stone holders and stones\.

     

    - Able to verify hole size using precision measuring tools\.

     

    - Able to maintain and verify surface finish\.

     

    * Able to set\-up and use handheld honing equipment\.

    + Responsible only for own work\.

    + Performs other duties as required\.

    Qualifications

    Education:

    Must have a high school diploma, an equivalent certificate, or a bronze level WorkKeys certification\. Requires knowledge of several different types of hone machines\.

    Experience:

    Requires a minimum of one year experience directly related to conventional honing or related CNC machines\.

    Working Conditions:

    Somewhat disagreeable working conditions due to exposure of hands continuously to coolant and spray on clothing\.
