Job Overview
**Area Residential Care** is currently seeking a Maintenance Staff to assist in general maintenance and repair work for all facilities and associated grounds of the agency. Maintenance Staff are responsible for establishing and carrying out a daily work schedule for maintaining/cleaning all facilities and associated grounds and equipment owned by the agency.
While performing general maintenance and repair work in cooperation with co-workers as well as routinely performing inspections and scheduled parts replacement and haul household supplies, furniture, and supply orders. The maintenance staff provides the individuals served and all other staff with a positive, appropriate community role model while promoting a positive image of Area Residential Care in the community at-large.
**Schedule:** 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., Monday-Friday, full-time. Occasional weekend hours for emergencies or special projects.
**Wage Range:** $20.85-$22.13

Qualifications/Requirements
_Minimum:_
+ **H.S Diploma or GED**
+ **A valid Driver License**
+ **At least 2 years relevant experience**
+ **Demonstrated general knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and appliance repair.**
+ **Must be able to operate all relevant agency-related equipment.**
+ **Ability to work independently or in a group and communicate with coworkers and individuals served.**
_Preferred:_
+ Education: High school diploma / HSED.
Technical training in appliance repair, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical.
+ Skills, Experience in some or all of the following: appliance repair, minor electrical and plumbing. Building maintenance equipment such as floor scrubbers, polishers, buffers, vacuums, carpet extractors, etc., building troubleshooting and repairs, window treatment systems, vehicle cleaning, and other aspects of property housekeeping support.
_Additional requirements:_
+ Licenses, Certificates, etc.: Valid driver’s license and a driving record that meets agency authorized driver criteria.
+ Must be able to use housekeeping tools, such as vacuums, mops, brooms, buckets, squeezers, ladders, power washers, carpet extractors, buffing/scrubbing machines, blowers, fans, chemicals and cleaning products. Occasional use of maintenance tools: hammers, wrenches, screwdrivers, saws, pliers, chisels, shovels, snow blowers, lubricants, sealers, brushes, insecticides, and fertilizers.
Job Summary
+ Assist the Maintenance Supervisor in establishing daily work schedule, work orders, standards, and procedures for all maintenance/housekeeping work.
+ Assist in the inspection of agency properties and working with outside vendors in repair of agency properties. Maintain records and reports.
+ Cooperates with co-workers while performing general maintenance and repair work, performs inspections, hauls products used, household supplies, and furniture, and orders and replaces failed parts and supplies.
+ Complete regular observations of each staff to support, train, and provide feedback.
+ Assist with snow removal and moving/hauling furniture.
+ Transport agency vehicles for service, and supplies to agency locations.
+ Assist in housekeeping of agency facilities.
The selected candidate will receive a conditional offer of employment, contingent upon successful completion of an Iowa criminal history check with the Division of Criminal Investigation, a pre-employment physical, drug screen, and TB test.
