    Summary:

    + Working under limited supervision, the Lead Simulation Operations Specialist will work with staff nurses, clinical nurse specialists, nursing professional development specialists, medicine, instructors and faculty, and leadership to improve patient safety, and outcomes through education, assessment, research, process improvement using simulation-based methodologies. The Lead Simulation Ops Specialist will utilize technical expertise and human physiological responses in order to support simulation activities for education, assessment, research and process improvement purposes.

    Responsibilities:

    + Support simulation activities by anticipating, preparing, and providing the appropriate simulator, medical supplies and disposables required based upon provided scenario parameters.

    + Provide technical support during simulated scenarios including operation of digital cameras, video cameras, audio/video mixer, digital/analog converter, web-based session recording software, monitors, LCD projectors as well as other necessary medical equipment.

    + Maintain, troubleshoot and repair computerized manikins (software and hardware), task trainers, virtual reality trainers and related multimedia peripherals. Maintain and update warranty information on all simulators and equipment.

    + Serve as an operations specialist for simulation-based exercises by programming patient manikin software to model human physiological responses with variable oversight and serve as the “patient” voice.

    + Manage assets and stock items utilizing online inventory management system, advising administrator on equipment/disposables purchases needed to maintain appropriate inventory

    + Collaborate with content experts with a focus on simulation operations to create scenarios with clear, measurable objectives based on validated need, engage appropriate inter-professional stakeholders, ensure that the facility, equipment and supplies are available prior to training.

    + Review scheduled events to ensure that each has appropriately assigned space, simulation technician and other resources as needed.

    + Serve as a consultant upon initiation of diverse simulation-based products, contracting with requestors to develop scope of work including objectives, timelines, deliverables, and resources. In concert with content experts, supports the development of simulation-based curriculums leveraging the most appropriate simulation-based methodology, in response to institutional education, assessment, research, and process improvement needs.

    + Collaborate with internal, local, and regional, and international colleagues to advance the use of simulation in healthcare education through education, teaching, and research.

    Credentials:

    + Cert Hlthcare Simulation Educ

    + EMT or PN or RN or MT

    Education or Equivalent Experience:

    + H.S. Diploma/GED (Required)

    + Education Specialization:Equivalent Experience:

    + Bachelor of Arts or Science (Required)

    + Education Specialization:Computer Science/ ITEquivalent Experience:•2+ years Advance Computer Knowledge

    Salary Range:

    $29.48 - $47.01/Hourly
