    Our Law Security and Public Policy (LSPP) division provides Legal Services, Global Security and Global Government & Corporate Affairs support functions and are aligned with the Caterpillar enterprise. We collaborate with our business partners, help the business succeed by addressing challenges and providing solutions for our clients, and use our expertise to identify and manage business risks to achieve business success.

    Job Summary

    We are looking for an Accountant to join our team supporting Law Security and Public Policy (LSPP). This staff role in LSPP Business Resources will provide accounting support to the leadership team of Legal Services, Global Security and Global Government and Corporate Affairs and provide monthly variance and ad hoc analysis and provide business counsel to all levels of the LSPP organization.

    What You Will Do:

    + Provide valuable insights to the Sr. Vice President of GGCA, Vice President and Deputy General Counsels, and Vice President and Chief Security Officer that will directly impact the support LSPP.

    + Support monthly closing submissions, quarterly forecast and ad hoc requests. Share monthly results with an audience that includes the senior LSPP leadership team.

    + Ensuring the accounting policies and practices of the organization are followed; working closely with internal auditors, public accountants, federal tax examiners, and other financial professionals ensuring that practices are in line with the overall goals of the organization.

    What You Have:

    + **Education:** This position typically requires a Bachelor’s degree within Accounting, Finance or related area with 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably within a large and/or multinational corporation

    + **Planning: Tactical, Strategic:** Knowledge of effective planning techniques and ability to contribute to operational (short term), tactical (1-2 years) and strategic (3-5 years) planning in support of the overall business plan.

    + **Financial Analysis:** Knowledge of tools and approaches of financial analysis; ability to read, interpret and draw accurate conclusions from financial and numerical material.

    + **Effective Communications:** Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.

    + **Accounting:** Knowledge of accounting methods, processes, and tools; ability to maintain and prepare financial statements and reports using accounting methods and processes.

    + The primary location for this position is Peoria, IL

    + This role requires 5 days a week in office

    + Domestic relocation is available for those who qualify

    Summary Pay Range:

    $110,520.00 - $165,840.00

     

    Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
