    The Grants Compliance and Implementation Coordinator will direct and manage the Department of Public Safety’s (DPS) grant activities to ensure that they are consistent with the strategies set by the Commissioner’s and Governor’s offices and comply with state and federal law. The position leads the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of DPS’s grants management policy and procedures. The position will provide oversight of and guidance to DPS’s grantmaking divisions on state and federal grants management policies and procedures. The position serves as the primary liaison between DPS and other state agencies such as the Department of Administration’s (ADM) Office of Grants Management (OGM). Finally, the position will provide team leadership and day-to-day work direction of the DPS Agency Grants Team.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Four (4) years of grants or program management experience *A Bachelor's degree may substitute for one year of the experience requirement.

    Experience must include all of the following:

    + Overseeing the development and implementation of grant programs.

    + Implementing state and federal grants management policies and procedures.

    + Analyzing data to develop policy and program recommendations, identify alternative solutions to complex issues, and communicate to diverse audiences.

     

    Ability to interpret and apply state and federal policies, procedures, and laws.

     

    Ability to read, interpret, and analyze guidelines, statutes, contract agreements, amendments, and work plans and apply them to individual circumstance or situations.

     

    Strong writing, communication, and human relations skills to foster collaborative relationships with colleagues, partner, and customer groups.

     

    Ability to work cooperatively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and underserved communities.

    Preferred Qualifications

    Experience in or knowledge of DPS grant programs.

     

    Experience implementing the State of Minnesota Office of Grants Management policies.

     

    Working knowledge of federal grants policies, procedures, and laws, including the Code of Federal Regulations federal financial assistance regulations.

    Physical Requirements

    Requires occasionally moving and transporting such articles as file folders and small tools. May need to maintain a stationary position for long periods of time while carrying out job duties.
