    Job Summary

    Insurance Follow Up Rep II

     

    Novant Health

     

    Responsible for managing accounts receivable activities to minimize the department’s investment in accounts receivable and reduce bad debt expense. Acts as a liaison with insurance payers to resolve outstanding accounts receivable while maintaining professional competency in accordance with Novant Health’s policies, procedures, and protocols.

     

    + Stay informed on timely filing limits, primary and secondary appellate guidelines, and refund policies for various payers.

    + Demonstrate strong knowledge of acknowledgements, recoupments, take backs, PLB segments, and offsets.

    + Accurately resolve accounts across multiple work queues (WQs), track and analyze denial trends, complete appeals, and resolve take backs.

    + Identify preventable denials and escalations; recommend process improvements and present findings to leadership and team members.

    + Collaborate with the Compliance Department to resolve complex account issues.

    + Partner with colleagues within the Insurance Follow-up department and other departments to optimize productivity and streamline follow-up processes organization-wide.

    + Manage insurance-related correspondence, including handling denials for assigned work queues.

    Qualifications

    + Education: High School Diploma or GED, required.

    + Experience: Minimum one year of related work experience, required.

    + Additional Skills (required): Good verbal and written communication skills. Experience operating computers/laptop. Clear and pleasant speaking voice on the telephone, hearing acuity that allows for understanding over the telephone, prolonged sitting, visual abilities and manual dexterity that allows the use of PCs for extended periods of time. Ability to operate 10 key keyboard. Ability to drive/travel to multiple locations/facilities as needed. Ability to work from home as needed.

    + Additional Skills (preferred): Basic accounting and medical terminology.
