Position Summary...
What you'll do...
We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our Analytics and Visualization Platform team. The Looker Platform Engineer is responsible for configuring, deploying, and maintaining the Looker platform to ensure secure, reliable, and efficient data access and visualization across the organization. In addition, this role will develop and enable Gen AI capabilities within Looker, empowering teams to leverage advanced analytics and AI-driven insights. The administrator also oversees user permissions, monitors system performance, and supports business teams in utilizing Looker for analytics and reporting.

Included in this are data platforms, enterprise architecture, DevOps, cloud computing, and infrastructure. All of these products and services are supported by scalable and powerful infrastructure, ensuring a secure and seamless employee and customer experience across stores, digital channels, and distribution centers.
What you'll do:
+ **Configure, Deploy, and Maintain Looker:** Oversee the setup, deployment, and ongoing maintenance of the Looker platform to ensure secure, reliable, and scalable analytics solutions.
+ **Develop and Enable Gen AI Capabilities:** Integrate and support Gen AI features within Looker to empower teams with advanced analytics, AI-driven insights, and automation.
+ **Manage the Semantic Layer:** Design, implement, and optimize Looker’s semantic layer (LookML models) to provide consistent, reusable data definitions and business logic across the organization.
+ **User Access and Security Management:** Administer user roles, permissions, and data access controls to maintain compliance and data security.
+ **Support Analytics and Visualization Needs:** Collaborate with business and technical teams to deliver robust dashboards, reports, and self-service analytics, while monitoring platform performance and troubleshooting issues.
What you'll bring:
+ **Expertise in Looker Platform and LookML:** Deep understanding of Looker platform configuration, LookML modeling, and semantic layer management to deliver consistent and scalable analytics solutions.
+ **Strong Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills:** Ability to troubleshoot platform issues, optimize performance, and translate business requirements into effective semantic models and visualizations.
+ **Experience with Gen AI and Advanced Analytics:** Familiarity with integrating and enabling Gen AI capabilities within analytics platforms to drive AI-powered insights and automation.
+ **Proficiency in Data Engineering and Modeling:** Skilled in design of Looker's semantic model to ensure data accuracy, consistency and strong foundation in SQL.
+ **Collaboration and Communication:** Effective at working with cross-functional teams, understanding stakeholder needs, and clearly communicating technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Live Better U is a Walmart-paid education benefit program for full-time and part-time associates in Walmart and Sam's Club facilities. The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00-$180,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
