    What You Will Do:

    Pratt & Whitney (P&W) Hot Section Module Center (HSMC) is seeking a detail oriented, goal focused technical manager to lead the New Process & Technology (NPT) team under the New Product Introduction (NPI) organization.

     

    In this role the selected manager will be responsible for developing and executing a HSMC new process and technology roadmap aligned to the technology roadmap needs for HSE, MPE, and programs, while solving major issues in today’s operations preventing future execution of business needs. The NPT manager will be responsible for overseeing all new Hot Section technology development through the life cycle of new programs, ensuring the progression of Process Development, Development Hardware Fabrication, Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL), and Technology Development Plans (TDP).

     

    The selected candidates will have the opportunity to work in a fast pace and dynamic manufacturing environment on multiple different development programs at various phases of maturity ensuring efficient and timely execution of our project timelines. Programs include, but are not limited to, F135 Engine Core Upgrade, Geared Turbo Fan Time on Wing Upgrades, and Gen6 Advanced Military Research and Development.

    Responsibilities:

    + Provide technical guidance managing a team of manufacturing engineers.

    + Coach, train, and develop manufacturing engineers by developing and approving proficiency advancement of personnel.

    + Partner with design engineering and MPE counterparts on producibility and industrialization considerations for new technologies.

    + Ensure the advancement of MRL and TRL activities.

    + Work closely with the NPI team to establish and execute technology and process roadmaps aligned to engineering and program needs

    + Utilize the Agile framework for managing and prioritizing tasks of the team.

    + Create and manage schedules ensuring on time delivery of new process and technology needs.

    + Business case generation for new projects ensuring proper on/off boarding of projects is aligned to business need and resources are allocated

    + Communicate task status in a highly visible environment concisely and clearly with multiple levels of the organization.

    + Hold and participate in regular business stakeholder meetings and update on project status to both internal management and customers.

    + Identify, investigate and implement new technology to address business goals

    + Lead the initiative to advance the Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL) and support hardware production for Technology Readiness Level (TRL) demonstration

    + Obtain and hold a Secret Level Security Clearance.

    Qualifications You Must Have:

    + Bachelor’s degree in engineering / industrial management or other related Bachelors’ degree

    + 10+ years operations or engineering experience

    + 7+ years’ experience with advanced degree

    + Experience and knowledge of machining and coating manufacturing processes

    + Strong project management and leadership skills

    + U.S. citizenship is required - Security clearance will be required, not necessary to start the role

    Qualifications We Prefer:

    + Previous operations management experience, preferably in a manufacturing engineering environment

    + Agile project management and JIRA experience

    + Six Sigma certifications

    + Project management experience/certification or advanced business degree

    + New technology and process development experience and successful transition to production

    + Manufacturing Readiness Level experience

    + Ability to develop strong interpersonal relationships and exercise influence

    The salary range for this role is 124,000 USD - 250,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.

     

    RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

     

    This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
