    Weekend First Shift (Friday – Sunday 6:00am – 6:00pm)

    What You Will Do:

    Pratt & Whitney has an opportunity for a Materials – Working Lead. This role reports into a Materials Manager for the Airfoil & Isothermal Manufacturing (AIM) Mod Center in Columbus, GA.

    Responsibilities:

    + Assign work to team members

    + Assign work to ensure production meets business need

    + Ensure team members have the skills, tools and materials needed to complete assigned tasks

    + Monitor availability of WIP (Work in Progress)

    + Set plan for next job run

    + Participate in proper cell set upAudit operator performance for adherence to standard work and productivity to goals

    + Update metric boards

    + Track daily output to goals

    + Confirm employee readiness (training)

    + Conduct 6S activities

    + Conduct employee communication and engagement

    + Provide performance feedback (coaching) to employees

    + Align employee skill with required work

    + Work process improvements

    + Assist with RCCA (root cause corrective action) and problem solving

    + Conduct cross-functional problem solving

    + Explain advanced functioning

    + Clear FAI (first article inspection) red tags

    + Clear hold tags

    + Coordinate RIDII (risk identification tool) activity for assigned work area

    Qualifications You Must Have:

    + High School Diploma or GED and 4 years of related work experience in materials or a similar manufacturing environment

    + U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

    Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.
