Function:
Perform work necessary to disassemble, inspect and assemble military aircraft engines in accordance with written work instructions, assembly drawings and/or blueprints. Perform visual and bench inspections of external parts and accessories in accordance with written work instructions and properly document all work performed within the assigned area/department.

Job Summary:
Pratt & Whitney is seeking an Engine Technician Grade Level 3 to serve as a member of our F135 Field Team supporting the F-35, F-22 and Special Programs at Edwards AFB, CA.
This is an amazing Opportunity for and Engine Technician at Edwards Air Force Base location on 1st or 2nd Shift.
What You Will Do
You will perform the work necessary to ensure engine production requirements and ensure quality standards are met for the overhaul and repair or test of F-135, F-119 and F-100 engines or modules and associated new technologies.
This role will include working on engines installed in the F-35 Aircraft as well as uninstalled engines in the back shop environment.
Complete the work priorities and assigned day-to-day tasks necessary to build, test and inspect Pratt and Whitney F135, F100, F119 gas turbine engines.
This maintenance requirement will include engines installed in the F-35 Aircraft as well as uninstalled engines in the back shop environment.
Understand maintenance information from team leaders through coordination with Technical Leads, Immediate Supervisor and Site Manager.
Interface and oversee with various other functions (Quality, Local FSE's, BEM's, Customers; U.S Air Force, LMAC etc.) to resolve issues and ensure timely product delivery.
As required, work with Flight Test engineering to improve methods and processes to build engines and related component test hardware.
Some Travel is the expectation l Strong communication skills; self-motivated and a self- starter
Good interpersonal skills in dealing with others in diverse work environment.
This position requires an individual who is detail oriented. Accuracy in work performed is a requirement.
Typical Duties:
Under the direction of supervisor, working lead and/or dock chiefs follow specified work instructions to set up and prepare a variety of engines and modules for disassembly, bench inspection, repair and testing processes and assembly.
Utilize standard and precision measuring instruments and gauges to check and calculate dimensions, as required by instructions. Perform routine maintenance and request adjustments to tools and equipment, as necessary to meet process requirements.
Utilize computer terminals to obtain technical data and reference materials. Read and interpret technical orders, manufacturers’ manuals, maintenance bulletins, blueprints, schematic drawings, and other technical information. Utilize technical data to determine the required tools, support equipment and parts needed to perform assigned tasks. Ensure adherence to technical orders and compliance with P&W quality policies.
Ensure proper handling and storage of parts in assigned area/department in accordance with P&W policies.
Utilize safety practices and procedures. Follow established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean work area.
Communicate all difficulties to dock chiefs, working lead and/or supervisor, as applicable.
Ability to work 1st or 2nd shift
You will be required to work atop maintenance platforms, ascend/descend maintenance stands, lift 25 pounds to a height of 4 feet, and position self to perform maintenance/inspections underneath engine rails and inside the exhaust duct.
The salary range for this role is $36.26-$43.47 ; however, Raytheon Technologies considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education/training, and key skills.
Qualifications You Must Have
High School Diploma/GED
1+ years of related engine maintenance experience.
omprehensive knowledge of gas turbine engine construction, related inspection methods, disassembly methods, assembly methods, machine shop practices and overhaul/repair procedures.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
Must be able to work 1st or 2nd shift and on weekend as needed.
Qualifications We Prefer
Prior Military Aerospace Engine Maintenance experience.
Hoist and forklift operation experience is a plus.
Familiar with test cell and flight line maintenance operations is a plus.
Engine blade blend is a plus
Borescope experience, familiarity with flight line maintenance operations, knowledge of non- powered Aerospace Ground Equipment and a confirmed ability to use and interpret electronic technical manuals is preferred.
Depot-Level (D-Level) or Intermediate level (I-level) maintenance experience is a plus
Air frame and Power Plant License

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.
Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.
