Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented **Modeling & Simulation** **Systems Engineer** to join our team! In this role you will get to provide engineering support to the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Modeling and Simulation (M&S) Operations Support team, that is responsible for digital representations of the Missile Defense System (MDS) and Adversary Threat Systems. Our models and simulations (M&S) form the analytical backbone for missile defense system development, testing, and operational readiness. We are seeking an individual to serve as a Junior M&S Systems Engineer. You will support a Senior M&S Systems Engineer as a "second set of eyes," critiquing the technical integrity, credibility, and analytical rigor of work performed by our software development contractors and external groups. You will learn to provide critical oversight and judgment on the M&S products and processes. Your primary function is to support and learn to ensure excellence. Your judgment will be developed to influence the modeling of our digital battlespace and the confidence we have in our warfighting capability.

What You'll Be Doing:

+ The primary role is direct support to the senior engineering staff who provide systems engineering and technical advice to senior government customers.

+ Employ a combination of convergent and divergent thinking to solve non-routine problems and generate non-routine products

+ Synthesize information from various sources to support the creation of informational or decision packages for senior government customers.

+ Leverage education and knowledge to improve, innovate, and accelerate systems engineering processes.

+ Provide analysis of the software development life cycles, ensuring best practices, processes, methodologies, and rigor are followed.

+ Document and present complex problems and solutions to non-technical stakeholders, like government program managers or senior leaders.

+ Critically review and evaluate software contractor delivered products to ensure technical accuracy and adherence to MDA standards.

+ Evaluate the technical maturity, risk, limitations, and readiness of products generated by external groups.

+ Serve as a key integrator, facilitating technical exchange between teams to ensure seamless interoperability and effective communication.

+ Become proficient in the use of the Missile Defense Advanced Simulation (MDASim) application to provide training to external groups.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

+ BS in STEM field with +3 years of experience.

+ Ability to obtain a Secret clearance.

+ Ability to critically analyze the work of others and provide concise, clear, data-driven recommendations to peers and government leadership.

+ A first principle understanding of the application and limitations of Agile/Lean, Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), and Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML).

+ Experience in software development life cycle and system engineering processes.

+ Microsoft Office Suite proficiency.

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

+ Experience applying Agile/Lean and/or MBSE methodologies in a software acquisition environment.

+ Experience with the application of AI/ML for M&S data analysis, surrogate modeling, or behavior generation.

+ Experience in the development, V&V, or analysis of M&S for missile defense and advisory threat systems.

+ Experience with the MDS or its elements (Aegis, THAAD, GMD, C2BMC).

+ Experience with Computer Aid Design, Radio Frequency, Infrared Plume, and Infrared Hardbody signature models.

+ Experience with MDASim.

+ Experience with Advanced Framework for Simulation, Integration and Modeling (AFSIM).

+ Secret clearance.

Security Clearance Requirement:

A security clearance is not required to apply; however, the selected candidate must be able to obtain a Secret clearance which requires U.S. citizenship, prior to the start date.

Salary Range: $72,900.00 - $127,600.00
