As a CBRE Building Engineer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and improving the functionality of our diverse facility in Collegeville, PA. This exceptional opportunity involves working across office, laboratory, and animal care areas, ensuring that all building systems operate flawlessly. Your expertise will be essential in handling mechanical, plumbing, and structural systems, with a strict focus on compliance, cleanliness, and operational integrity. You will lead preventive maintenance initiatives, respond promptly to service requests, and collaborate with external vendors to ensure seamless operations. Your proven skills in industrial/commercial plumbing and attention to detail will help uphold our world-class standards.
What You’ll Do
+ Conduct maintenance and repairs on systems related to mechanics, plumbing, and structures, addressing issues like leaks, blockages, and malfunctioning fixtures.
+ Ensure facility and building systems adhere to applicable standards, maintaining ceiling integrity in cleanrooms and labs, and cleanliness in sensitive areas such as labs and animal rooms.
+ Align with all codes, regulations, and company directives pertaining to building operations and safety.
+ Support the implementation of a preventive maintenance program to ensure building machinery and systems achieve their full lifespan. Address emergency repairs as needed and conduct routine inspections.
+ Follow policies for the safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials, maintaining a clean and safe workplace.
+ Coordinate and supervise external contractors and service providers, ensuring adherence to safety and security protocols.
+ Apply comprehensive knowledge of standard principles and techniques to tackle complex assignments and develop innovative solutions.
+ Mentor team members, sharing deep knowledge of your field and broad insights across various job functions.
+ Lead by example, embodying CBRE’s RISE values, building consensus, and encouraging collaboration.
+ Impact a range of customer, operational, and project activities within and beyond your team.
+ Communicate complex or sensitive information effectively.
What You’ll Need
+ High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 3+ years of relevant experience. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered. A Universal CFC certification is preferred. Certifications/licenses as required by local or state jurisdictions. Experience in shift management or supervision is a plus.
+ Practical experience with industrial/commercial plumbing systems.
+ Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and lifting/carrying loads of 50 lbs. or more.
+ Interest in making well-informed judgments based on multiple information sources.
+ Willingness to approach existing solutions with a fresh perspective.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
+ Effective organization abilities and a curious approach.
+ Excellent communication and teamwork abilities, demonstrating attention to detail in regulated environments.
+ Experience managing third-party contractors and ensuring high-quality work.
