    Qualifications

    Required Education:

    Ph.D. in molecular biology field or relevant fields

    Preferred Experience:

    Extensive knowledge and application of new generation sequencing technology, confocal imaging techniques and molecular cloning techniques.

    Required Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    Excellent oral and written communication skills.

     

    Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.

     

    Skill in writing manuscripts and making formal presentations.

     

    Position contingent on availability of grant funding

    Job Responsibilities

    Participation in several research projects in our lab including single-cell transcriptomic analysis and cellular growth quantification in the plant model organism Oryza Sativa (rice) and beyond. The candidate will work here mainly as a cell and molecular biologist to generate high throughput sequencing data. In parallel, the candidate will lead the bench work of single-cell RNA sequencing, spatial transcriptomics, confocal imaging and genetic editing. In details:

     

    Single-cell RNA sequencing analysis: 15%

     

    Spatial transcriptomic analysis: 15%

     

    Rice root confocal imaging: 25%

     

    Rice gene editing: 20%

     

    Mentoring: 10%

     

    Manuscript writing: 10%

     

    Performs other duties as assigned: 5%
