    REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

    Bachelor's degree or equivalent in related field and two years related experience.

    JOB SUMMARY:

    To perform accounting related activities involved in the patient account system payment reconciliation process and provide, analyze and act upon associated reports.

    MAJOR DUTIES / CRITICAL TASKS:

    • Assists in the classifying, coding, posting, and balancing of all cash receipts and payments posted in EPIC.

    • Reconciles all funds received and corresponding posted payments.

    • Reconciles posted credit card payments with funds received from bank.

    • Accumulates and tabulates data for cash collections reports.

    • Prepares monthly and annual financial reports.

    • Maintains controlling records and subsidiary ledgers.

    • Analyzes and reconcile accounts including but not limited to Cash clearings, refunds, returned checks and escheat accounts.

    • Examines and verifies demands and vouchers.

    • Provides solutions for internal challenges and recommends solutions to improve operational effectiveness and efficiency.

    • Assists with creation of policies and procedures.

    • Adheres to internal controls established for department.

    • Performs related duties as required.

    KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

    • Professionals in this role will need to have technical abilities as well as operational understanding of Single Billing Office (SBO) set up and payment posting process.

    • Good background in Accounting, Mathematics, and record keeping.

    • Knowledge of Accounting and bookkeeping practices and principles.

    • Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office, Database entry and Database use.

    • Experience in an EPIC environment
