Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Sterile Processing Technician, you'll play a critical role in delivering safe, high-quality surgical care by making sure every instrument is thoroughly cleaned, sterilized, and ready when needed. Your focus on safety and attention to detail helps protect patients and empowers a team that’s committed to the care and improvement of human life – one surgery at a time.

Your responsibilities will include:

+ Cleaning, disinfecting, sterilizing, and organizing surgical instruments and supplies following safety standards

+ Monitoring sterilization cycles, documenting results, and resolving issues promptly to deliver on our commitment to safe, high-quality care

+ Preparing and organizing instrument trays and surgical rooms based on the daily schedule and procedural needs

+ Safely handling and disposing of biohazardous materials while keeping the work area clean and organized

+ Working closely with nurses and surgeons to anticipate needs and support smooth, efficient surgeries

What qualifications you will need:

+ High School Diploma or GED

+ Graduate from an accredited Sterile Processing school program –OR- 2yrs experience in an acute care setting as an SPD technician in-lieu of a formal SPD training program.

+ Graduate from an accredited Surgical Technologist school Program (preferred)

+ Surgical Tech or Sterile Processing Tech, with a minimum of 6 months experience (preferred)

+ New Grad with completed minimum clinical hours required by IAHCSMM

+ Certification for Sterile Processing Technicians from CBSPD or IAHCSMM (preferred)
