Job Summary and Qualifications
Summary:
The Performance Improvement - Manager Labor Technology reports to and collaborates with the Performance Improvement - Sr. Director Labor Technology to execute the technology strategies for the HCA Performance Improvement organization. The PI Manager Labor Technology will support the dedicated technology resources to meet the PI Labor organization's goals. This position concentrates on managing the technical and functional implementation and utilization of Information Technologies to support the PI Labor strategies, implementations, and projects. This role requires leadership experience to orchestrate/synch various IT resources to the PI Labor resources to achieve the organizations overall objectives. The PI Manager Labor Technology provides support for information technology and its use to successfully perform data analytics, educate operational resources, standardize processes, and monitor performance. This individual must possess strategic vision, excellent communication skills, proven facilitation skills, proven motivational capabilities, have an executive presence, and a demonstrated track record of delivering results and attaining goals.
Responsibilities:
+ Executes the technology strategic plan for the Performance Improvement- Labor organization.
+ Recommends information technology to support and meet the specific challenges of labor management and process improvement processes.
+ Liaison for Labor Technology with HealthTrust IT on all labor system issues, changes, and development activities.
+ Assist and provide oversight for implementations and execution of acquisitions of Labor Management information systems to ensure integration of IT and Labor Business Technology via well-defined plans including procedures, operational tasks, deadlines, and accountability.
+ Responsible and help support the PI Labor Management Problem Management process to identify, prioritize, monitor and communicate system and process-based problems to PI leadership and ensure the resolutions are timely and complete.
+ Responsible for oversight and communication to PI and Labor leadership for all HealthTrust IT Labor Management System development, support and maintenance including, but not limited to the status of all labor issues, labor management system changes and releases.
+ Responsible for communicating PI Labor leadership issues, requirements and business needs to HealthTrust IT&S, and setting expectations and deliverables with IT&S to ensure the business requirements are planned and scheduled to meet PI leadership's expectations.
+ Assist and support HCA Project Management team on Labor Management system projects.
+ Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the ISAS Products (Volume Forecasting, Staffing Grid, PLUS, and Workload Forecast Tool), Facility Scheduler and the Kronos Alert Tool and help guide the work for these respective applications.
+ Assist PI Education and Training to develop Labor Management Education on how the labor systems interact and work (process flow), assign and track this via HealthStream, and facilitate reviews with labor user groups.
+ In conjunction with PI Labor management; responsible for developing, communicating and updating (at least annually) the PI Labor Management System roadmap with IT&S.
+ Oversee improvements to the FS Dashboard and integrate the labor management dashboards.
+ Stays abreast of HCA IT&S strategy and direction to ensure alignment of departmental IT strategy as well as providing direction concerning more finite goals and strategies to best support the process improvement and labor management objectives.
+ In conjunction with the PI Analytics team; determines technology tools to be utilized to deliver analysis to PI customers across the organization including facility, division and group leadership.
+ Ensures users/customers are provided professional, courteous, and timely support and service.
+ Provides technology expertise specific to ongoing and planned projects as well as facilitating/supporting the standardization of processes and practices.
+ Provides insight and expertise to the various application development organizations to infuse the processes with end user needs to support standardized Labor Management processes and practices as well as performance improvement.
+ Provides a mechanism for management and dissemination of best demonstrated practices across the HCA organization to ensure that opportunities are not left on the table due to lack of awareness or knowledge.
+ Works with PI Leadership to adjust PI strategies to respond to changing business needs.
+ Drives business decisions through the use of analytics.
+ Develops a culture of high performance and continuous improvement that values learning and a commitment to quality.
+ Communicates timely and effectively in a matrix environment.
+ Escalates issues to group, division or PI leadership as necessary.
+ Attracts, develops, and retains talent across the organization to ensure succession plan.
Education:
+ Bachelor’s degree required
+ Master’s degree preferred
Qualifications:
+ Minimum of 5 years experience in related roles.
+ Healthcare MIS or ITS experience preferred.
+ Experience with large-scale system EMR -Expanse and implementations preferred.
+ Healthcare labor management experience preferred.
+ Excellent interpersonal skills across all levels of Labor and IT management, and the ability to work within a highly matrix environment.
+ Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
+ Knowledge and experience with analytical tools, SQL and BOBJ queries.
+ Nashville based, limited travel required.
