JOB SUMMARY:

Under the guidance of the Maintenance Manager, the Mechanical Maintenance Technician is accountable for maintaining production and warehouse equipment, the plant and its infrastructure in a safe and usable condition.

Shift: 1st shift, 6am – 2pm, Mon – Fri

**DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES** :

+ Following all safety rules and rules as established in the employee handbook.

+ Follow standard operating procedures- PM schedules, maintenance work orders, etc.

+ Respond to maintenance work orders in a timely manner and remain flexible to changing priorities.

+ Check, adjust or replace belts, chains, bearings, photo eyes, etc.

+ Monitor critical pieces of equipment, to detect and resolve issues utilizing WCM tools

+ Recognize conditions that could lead to equipment breakdowns.

+ Proactive completion of scheduled preventive maintenance activities.

+ Maintain good housekeeping of maintenance shop (5S) and production areas where maintenance work has taken place.

+ Operate a fork truck, scissors lift and boom lift.

+ Understand control wiring and systems.

+ Flexible, open minded team player.

+ Use materials efficiently with minimal waste.

+ Maintain company tools and equipment in good working condition.

+ Completing all tasks as assigned by the supervising manager and attending job training activities.

**OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES** :

+ Participate in WCM initiatives, including but not limited to kaizen events, sustainment board launches, SOP writing, and Development, Safety “Red” tagging equipment, and 5S activities.

+ Train production operators on basics of how equipment works and basic maintenance.

+ Manage hazardous waste safety and by company standard.

**WORKING CONDITIONS** :

Works in a plant environment with limited HVAC, concrete floors, and exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, and temperature changes. May occasionally encounter wet/slippery surfaces. Normal plant operation is 2 shifts, up to 7 days a week, depending on business needs. May require long hours and weekend and holiday work, also depending on business needs.

QUALIFICATIONS:

+ High School Diploma or GED - required.

+ Hand Tool Proficiency; Hand tools, drill press, bench grinder, band saw, chop saw, torch, hand power tool - required

+ Basic electric experience; Understanding of three phase power wiring, running conduit, wire motors, troubleshoot electrical problems - required

+ Welding Experience - preferred

+ Lean Principles and WCM (World Class Manufacturing) - preferred
