Position Overview:

The Assistant Canine Rescue and Rehabilitation coordinator is responsible for supporting the management and instruction of the dog program within our Work Appreciation for Youth (WAY) Worksite. The Assistant canine coordinator works with youth to develop skill and interest in training, grooming, transportation and basic veterinary care of dogs. The assistant canine coordinator will be responsible for supporting the incorporation of our Integrated Treatment Model (ITM) which uses Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) Techniques in their daily work. Assistant canine coordinator is responsible for maintaining youth WAY Works schedule and assuring payment in boys bank is accurate and timely.

Position Qualifications:

Certification in dog training (CPDT, KPA, or similar) OR two years of experience in dog training/behavior including both individual and group instruction – preferred. Two years of experience working with special education or high needs youth – preferred. Valid drivers license. Strong written and oral communication skills. Strong computer skills. Bilingual (Spanish) - preferred
