    The Opportunity

     

    We are seeking a results-driven Business Development Manager with strong technical acumen and deep experience in the agriculture industry to lead our sales efforts for Digital Grain Monitoring and Hazard Monitoring solutions.

     

    This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on sales execution, managing a high-performing team and driving growth through direct engagement with channel partners and customers.

    Responsibilities

    + Develop and execute a sales strategy to meet monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue and profit goals.

    + Lead and manage the sales channel with direct responsibility for selling advanced monitoring technologies tailored to agricultural operations.

    + Build, coach, and lead a high-performance sales team, including hiring, onboarding, and ongoing development.

    + Leverage data and performance metrics to evaluate results and continuously refine sales strategies.

    + Collaborate across a matrixed organization to align sales efforts with product, marketing, and operational teams.

    + Analyze sales pipelines, prioritize opportunities, and allocate resources to maximize impact.

    + Contribute to the development and management of the sales and marketing budget.

    + Partner with leadership to identify market opportunities and execute go-to-market strategies that ensure competitiveness.

    + Build strong relationships with customers across engineering, purchasing, quality, and operations to understand their needs and influence decision-making.

    + Guide the team in navigating customer organizations, understanding business strategies, and closing complex deals.

    + Support sales team activities including prospecting, qualification, and pipeline management using Salesforce CRM and other tools.

    + Represent the company at industry trade shows, conferences, and marketing events.

    Qualifications

    + Post Secondary Degree in Business, Agriculture, Engineering, or relevant technical discipline.

    + 7+ years of demonstrated technical sales preferably in the Ag Industry with 4+ years of leadership responsibility for sales professionals.

    + Strong background in selling complex technical products or technology enabled solutions. Demonstrated success in managing sales teams and driving revenue growth.

    + Excellent communication skills.

    + Proficiency with CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) and data-driven decision-making.

    + Experience thriving in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.

    + Advanced skills with: Word, Excel, Outlook, Salesforce.
