Responsible for developing, implementing and improving broadly defined quality engineering practices related to new business activities, quality systems, processes, and products/materials, to assure compliance with customer technical expectations, and quality-related regulatory requirements, at minimum cost to the company. The relative contribution to each of the above will vary with the incumbent’s specific assignment.
+ Determine customer and regulatory quality requirements and analyze for compatibility with Parker Lord products and processes. Resolve differences internally and/or with customer or regulatory agency.
+ Analyze quality trends and participate in process improvement activities (Lean).
+ Lead/Coordinate internal activities in support of major customer, regulatory, and third-party certification efforts.
+ Develop and improve quality systems and processes to assure customer satisfaction. Lead quality audits to assess compliance and effectiveness.
+ Lead major quality projects and programs. Participate on new product introduction teams to assure all pertinent quality requirements and objectives are understood, communicated and met throughout product lifecycle.
+ Prepare and maintain detailed quality plans, control plans, inspection/test plans and inspection/test methods for assigned products/materials. Provide direction to affected personnel to assure complete and timely implementation of the plans.
+ Participate in design reviews and risk analysis for new products/materials and technologies. Follow-up to assure resolution of problem areas.
+ Conduct quality system and process audits of potential and existing suppliers.
+ Foster a Zero Defects culture and facilitate Root Cause & Corrective Action (RCCA) using 8-D format across all disciplines.
+ Apply advanced technical principles, theories and concepts. Contribute to the development of new principles and concepts within Parker Lord.
+ Lead portions of large projects as a team member.
Mandatory Qualifications:
+ BS in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
+ Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in the quality or manufacturing field.
+ A solid working knowledge of aerospace or industrial quality and inspection systems and have knowledge of quality engineering techniques with an emphasis on root cause analysis.
+ Possess excellent oral and written communication skills, including a high degree of comfort in presenting advanced quality concepts, plans, and technical data, to various audiences from shop floor personnel to management and customers.
+ Must work well in team-based environment as a leader, facilitator, and/or individual contributor.
+ Knowledge of statistical analysis tools (e.g., control charts, capability analysis, etc.) and problem-solving tools (pareto, C&E, RCCA).
+ Possess project management skills in relation to planning, managing, and closing projects.
+ Proficient in the use of personal computers and related software (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc.).
+ Knowledge of AS Standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Familiarity with LEAN Manufacturing Principles (Parker Lean System).
+ Certification as ASQ Certified Quality Manager, Engineer, and/or Auditor.
+ Knowledge of SAP quality modules.
