Description
The Manager, Product Design will lead Ring.com's pre-purchase digital experience, overseeing both user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design. This leader will direct a team of product, content, and systems designers to create clear, engaging ways for customers to explore and purchase Ring's security devices online. They will use customer data, AI/ML insights, and business metrics to guide design decisions, establish scalable systems, and improve user engagement, accessibility, and conversion rates.
This position requires flexibility to work across multiple time zones, with regular domestic and international travel for in-person meetings, events, and workshops.
Key job responsibilities
• Lead the product design strategy for Ring.com's shopping experience
• Partner with content design, product management, and engineering leadership to align design with business goals
• Define and scale Ring's design system for consistent user experiences
• Integrate AI/ML capabilities to enhance personalization and user experiences
• Use data analytics to inform design decisions and present to stakeholders
• Guide teams toward cohesive approaches while clearly communicating complex concepts
• Implement measurement frameworks for continuous design improvement
• Set design vision and optimize team structures to meet objectives
• Balance design solutions with technical constraints and customer needs
• Manage digital product initiatives across multiple workstreams
• Foster cross-functional collaboration and innovation
• Develop and mentor designers within the organization
• Represent product design at the executive level
A day in the life
You'll lead Ring.com's product design team, focusing on the pre-purchase customer journey. You'll set objectives for the design organization alongside product management and content design leaders, champion data-driven design decisions, and optimize user experiences through analytics and AI insights. You'll ensure design execution aligns with product strategy and content systems. You'll mentor your team, collaborate with cross-functional partners, and drive initiatives that improve how customers discover and purchase Ring products.
About the team
The Product and Design Group (PDG) is a collaborative, multi-disciplinary organization of designers, engineers, writers, researchers, product managers, and program managers working together to bring the Ring/Blink/Amazon Key/Amazon Sidewalk (RBKS) product vision to life. We enjoy what we do, have big ideas, and tackle complex problems by taking risks that drive global solutions. In every work stream, we immerse ourselves in insights, and invent on behalf of our customers. We brainstorm scenarios they will benefit from and solutions to pain points—crafting innovative products that aim to connect the physical and digital customer journey.
Basic Qualifications
- 7+ years of design experience
- 4+ years of leading design teams experience
- Experience managing teams
- Knowledge of best practices for information architecture and interaction design, user-centered design process
- Knowledge of user experience principles and techniques
- Experience with a variety of design tools such as Figma, Adobe CC, Fireworks, Visio, Axure, and Dreamweaver
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working cross-team and synthesize feedback and input from product management, engineering, testing, and marketing
- Experience with agile/scrum

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $136,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $225,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
