Description
The Senior TPM (Technical Program Manager) will lead cross-functional teams on v0/v1 products through the product development process.
They will drive and motivate a cross-functional team to deliver sensor and camera sub-systems and cross functionally manage other internal team members. They manage internal algorithm and software development schedules, and are responsible for coordinating and planning engineering builds at the supplier(s) and driving the configuration management deliverables to ensure the timely release of assemblies to production.
Expect the candidate to lead adoption, deprecation and enhancement of mechanisms with high impact across the org. The high level of ambiguity on these programs requires a flexible approach to program management combined with strong judgement.
Key job responsibilities
To be successful, the TPM will need to prioritize well, communicate and articulate effectively in order to influence leadership direction on programs. They will need to lead the cross-functional team efficiently, provide guidance and leadership to meet schedules, specifications and quality. They will also lead the core team through program milestones and critical one and two-way door decision points on programs.
They should be able to manage many technical and program-level discussions with minimal engagement from subject matter experts.
A day in the life
We drive modules to builds by working with our vendors to meet the System level build schedules.
You may run other cross-org mechanisms, and audit existing mechanisms, and mentor junior TPMs in the organization.
Partner and interact with the core team which includes Engineering, GCM, Ops Engineering, SQM and Reliability team members to support the System core team device level builds at the Contract Manufacturers (CM).
Basic Qualifications
- 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
- 5+ years of technical product or program management experience
- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science or equivalent
- Experience managing technical programs across cross-functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
- Knowledge of project management tools and methodologies (agile to waterfall)
- Experience with general troubleshooting/debugging of hardware, or experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
- Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership
- Experience in technical program management working directly with software engineering teams

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
