Basic Job Functions:
The Accounting Supervisor is responsible for the coordination, oversight and execution of Nucors accounting, reporting, and internal control related activities. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, all accounting functions including general ledger, accounts payable, fixed assets, tax, financial and compliance reporting, forecasting, costing files, assisting with annual budget, monthly balancing, inventory management, and recording and timely reporting of accounting records/transactions, etc. This position will also take a lead role in the implementation, communication, and interpretation of accounting and financial policies, control and system improvements; supervision of external and internal audit processes and to ensure maintenance of proper internal controls. Will provide analytical support to other departments as it relates to accounting issues and driving continuous cost improvements across all aspects of the business. This role is also responsible for staff training and the development and growth opportunities for finance department teammates. Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business-related field
Minimum of 5 years work experience in financial-related positions in a manufacturing environment
Leadership/supervisory experience
Must be willing and able to travel between all NDS Facilities: San Bernardino, CA and Madison, Indian
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced MS Excel and Access user who demonstrates ability to engage in data driven decision making
CPA and/or MBA preferred
ERP Implementation Experience/ D365
Manufacturing or Cost Accounting experience
Leadership/supervisory experience
Must have supervisor and/or manager recommendations and must be able to perform all essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
