About the Team
At DoorDash we’re building the industry’s most scalable and reliable delivery network to support our three-sided marketplace of consumers, merchants, and dashers. TPMs on our Engineering teams provide fundamental support to the underlying technology services as well as the engineers building these services. It’s no simple task, but it wouldn’t be interesting if it was!
About the Role
We’re looking for a Staff Technical Program Manager to drive large-scale programs across Security Engineering and Enablement. You’ll focus on building structure, clarity, and velocity into initiatives that ensure DoorDash’s products and platforms are built with safety and resiliency by design. You’ll own complex, cross-functional programs, bring structure to execution, and help leaders and engineers align on goals, trade-offs, and outcomes. Programs will require a strong technical understanding, strong cross organization coordination/facilitation, stakeholder management, and ownership of results.
You will report into the centralized Technical Program Management team in Engineering.
You're excited about this opportunity because you will…
+ Deliver Program Vision & Strategy: Shape and execute cross-company programs that deliver scalable, reliable, and efficient security solutions at scale, aligned to DoorDash’s business growth.
+ Drive Execution & Optimization: Establish durable frameworks for planning, execution, and visibility, ensuring security initiatives are prioritized, resourced, and tracked effectively.
+ Partner Across the Organization: Act as the connective tissue between Security Engineering, Product, and Platform teams — enabling velocity and rigor while upholding strong security standards.
+ Demonstrate Technical Depth: Leverage your understanding of large-scale distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, security engineering and platform engineering to evaluate designs, assess trade-offs, and influence solutions.
+ Nurture Stakeholders & Build Trust: Manage expectations across leadership and partner teams, earning trust through clear communication, problem solving, and deep technical credibility.
+ Enable “Security by Default”: Drive initiatives that embed security into developer workflows and cloud infrastructure, abstracting away complexity and reducing friction.
+ Scale Global Programs: Deliver programs that expand security coverage globally, balancing risk reduction with engineering velocity and business enablement to DoorDash and the family of companies including Wolt and Deliveroo.
We're excited about you because…
+ You’re experienced in working with platform and/or product engineers and large-scale distributed systems. You can speak to system architecture, secure design, scalability and reliability decisions, and design trade offs.
+ You’re a strong technical leader with the ability to collaborate and build relationships across organizations, bridge gaps between teams, and successfully influence without authority.
+ You have strong ownership, urgency, and drive. You are willing to roll up your sleeves and dive into the details to understand and drive your programs.
+ You have excellent written & verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with confidence, clarity, and focus. You can convey concepts and considerations to non-experts and experts alike.
+ You’ve engaged with Engineering teams on product & platform development with a thorough understanding of software development processes and project planning.
+ You are pragmatic and detailed in your approach and focus on progress, not perfection.
Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s Degree with experience in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Security Engineering or other related discipline.
+ 10+ years recent experience as a Technical Program Manager at an Internet scale technology company.
+ Experience leading and driving initiatives in technical security engineering in collaboration with cross-functional teams (strongly preferred but not explicitly required).
+ Experience in large-scale distributed systems and system architecture.
+ Experience working with platform engineers and directly engaging on product development, with a thorough understanding of software and infrastructure development processes.
+ Project planning and execution skills that include reviewing technical design documents, estimating, and scheduling work.
