    Responsibilities

    Charter House's mission is to provide the best care through practice, education. We are looking for a passionate and dedicated licensed practical nurse (LPN) to join our team. Responsibilities of the LPN role include:

     

    + Providing direct care duties under the delegation of a registered nurse or nurse manager.

    + Monitoring the nursing care provided by professional and ancillary nursing personnel.

    + Assisting the registered nurse with data collection in collaboration with the resident, family and/r significant others and the interdisciplinary health care team to meet the care, educational and discharge needs.

    + Adhering to Standards of Clinical Nursing Practice and Nurse Practice Act.

    *This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship; Also, Mayo Clinic DOES NOT participate in the F-1 STEM OPT extension program.

    Qualifications

    To be considered for the LPN position, you must meet the following requirements:

    + Graduate of a school of practical nursing or passed LPN Boards after a defined period in a professional nursing program (e.g., some states allow RN students to take the LPN board exam after completing one to two years in the RN program).

    + If graduation did not occur within the last two years, one year of LPN experience working in an applicable setting is required.

    + MN Licensed Practical Nurse license and, Basic Cardiac Life Support for Health Care Providers Certification (must come from one of the following providers: American Heart Association, Red Cross, or Military Training Network).

    Additional Qualifications

    + One year of work experience in Long Term Care or Home Health or two years of acute care nursing is preferred.

    + Must be able to work in collaboration with others.

    + Requires good communication and human relation skills to interact with Health Service and Charter House staff.

    + Strong problem-solving skills are necessary with the ability to collect, compare, sort and prioritize information to be used in the decision-making process for groups of resident and employees.

    + Must be able to adapt to unpredictable situations and stress.

    + Works flexible hours which may include days, evenings, nights, holidays and weekends.

    + MUST show US equivalent degree.

    + Evaluation MUST be completed from an organization listed as a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) www.naces.org OR the Association of International Credential Evaluators, Inc. (AICE) www.aice-eval.org .
