Verdantas is seeking a **Staff Engineer I** for Summer 2026 at our **Mentor, Ohio,** Office. This opportunity is ideal for recent graduates or emerging professionals ready to transition from academic learning to impactful, real-world engineering.
As a Staff I Engineer, you’ll be part of a collaborative team that values innovation, curiosity, and continuous growth. You’ll contribute to meaningful projects that drive environmental and infrastructure solutions, while gaining hands-on experience in design, development, and problem-solving.

What You'll Do:
+ Assist Project Managers with technical, and civil engineering design or provide Project Management
+ Perform technical engineering work associated with land development and/or water resources:
+ Stormwater management design
+ Site grading
+ Erosion and sediment control design
+ Prepare plans for agency/municipal review
+ Completion of various land development and environmental permitting applications
+ Attend meetings with municipal officials, engineers, developers, and contractors
+ Candidate should be a critical thinker, be willing to learn through trial and error, be self-motivated, and willing to put the full effort towards the task at hand
+ Candidate should have a strong desire to grow and advance as an engineer or technical designer
What You Bring:
+ Associate degree in civil engineering from an ABET-accredited institution
+ Bachelor's degree is a plus
+ 0-2 years of experience in land development civil-site engineering
+ Familiarity with HydroCAD or other stormwater modeling software
+ Knowledge of green infrastructure practices, such as bioretention systems, permeable pavement, infiltration systems, and green roofs
+ Familiarity with AutoCAD, Civil 3D preferred
+ EIT Preferred
+ Familiarity with ArcGIS software is preferred
+ Strong written and oral communication skills
Salary Range:
65,000 - 70,000
