Clinical Float Pool - RN, LPN & CNA/MA

The Float Pool provides the opportunity for full time and per diem RNs, LPNs OR MAs to work throughout our network in a variety of settings including: primary care, specialty services, pediatrics, women’s health, inpatient addiction services, etc. Candidates for our Float Pool should be exceptionally flexible with a variety of clinical interests and skills. Float Pool candidates will be required to remain in their floating assignment for a minimum of 90 days and in be in good standing before they are eligible to request a transfer into an existing vacancy in a specific clinical department. As a float employee, you may be assigned to a specific location for a designated period of time to support the operational needs of that site. This is an exciting way to become part of the Cornell Scott Hill Health Center.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
+ Open to clinical care delivery in all departments
+ Quick adaptation to changes in workflows based on department/site/population served, and knowledgeable around where to locate resources to perform job duties
+ Available to travel to any of the Cornell Scott Hill Health Center sites
+ Valid driver's license and current car insurance
+ Flexible to assume same-day assignment(s)
Requirements for Registered Nurses:
+ Graduate from an accredited school. Must have a current Registered Nurse Connecticut State Licensure. CPR certification required.
+ Minimum of two (2) years experience in a medical/surgical, pediatric, and/or Women’s Health setting. Experience in Behavioral Health and/or Substance Abuse setting desirable. Ambulatory/Outpatient Clinic experience is highly desirable/preferred.
+ Excellent Patient Management skills.
+ Must be strongly motivated and able to accept supervision.
+ Computer skills are essential with the ability to learn Epic.
+ Ability to provide phone triage along with knowledge of referral process, medication refill procedures and Hollister charting are also required.
+ Knowledge of CLIA waived lab testing, Urine Dipsticks and Glucometers are necessary.
+ Excellent leadership qualities and knowledge of management skills are necessary.
+ Bilingual English/Spanish is highly desirable.
Requirements for Licensed Practical Nurses:
+ LPN Graduate from an accredited school. Connecticut LPN licensure required. Must be registered as an LPN in the State of Connecticut. Phlebotomy Certification (National Phlebotomy Association or National Healthcare Association) is preferred. CPR certification required.
+ Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in Internal Medicine, Surgical Specialties, Long Term Care or Rehabilitation required.
+ Experience performing EKG’s and triaging patients also required.
+ Experience performing phlebotomy is desirable.
+ Experience in Behavioral Health and/or Substance Abuse setting desirable.
+ Excellent Patient Management skills.
+ Must be strongly motivated and able to accept supervision.

Requirements for Certified Nursing Assistant/ Medical Assistant:
+ High School Diploma/GED required. Certification as a Nursing Assistant from the State of Connecticut Department of Health or a Medical Assistant Diploma is required. Phlebotomy Certification (National Phlebotomy Association or National Healthcare Association) is preferred. Current CPR certification from the American Heart Association required.
+ Experience in Behavioral Health and/or Addictions/Substance Abuse preferred.
+ Ability to communicate and work with individuals who have health/social problems.
+ Computer skills are required with the ability to learn EPIC and Outlook.
+ Excellent customer services skills and the ability to accept supervision and assigned responsibilities are necessary.
+ Must be able to demonstrate competency in performing all vital signs.
+ Ability to read and write legibly in English and comprehend basic health information is essential.
+ Bilingual experience preferred.
