Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Machinist to expertly operate and manage a variety of machinery, including lathes, mills, drills, saws, and CNC machines, to produce precision parts. Your keen ability to read blueprints and interpret technical drawings will be essential in maintaining the high standards of our production process. This role involves ensuring tight tolerances through precise measurement and inspection, as well as performing routine equipment maintenance and minor repairs.

Responsibilities

+ Operate and set up lathes, mills, drills, saws, and CNC machines to produce parts according to specifications.

+ Interpret and work from technical drawings and schematics with accuracy.

+ Use micrometers, calipers, and gauges for precise measurement and inspection to ensure tight tolerances.

+ Conduct routine equipment checks and perform minor repairs to maintain machine efficiency.

+ Inspect finished parts and document any discrepancies for quality control.

+ Collaborate with engineers and production teams to identify and implement process improvements.

+ Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized workspace.

Essential Skills

+ 5+ years of machining experience with lathe, mill, drill, and saw operations.

+ Strong understanding of machining processes and CNC programming.

+ Proficient in shop math and precision measurement.

+ Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ High school diploma required; vocational training or associate degree preferred.

+ Manual machining experience is a significant advantage.

+ Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to quality.

Work Environment

The work environment is a hands-on, fast-paced machine shop that emphasizes teamwork, safety, and precision. The shift runs from 5am to 1:30pm, with ample opportunities for overtime.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Rio Vista, California.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $34.00/hr.
