    Job Title: Process Technician

    Job Description

    We are seeking a skilled Process Technician to set up and operate 300-ton Arburg injection mold machines. The role involves adjusting and monitoring pressure, feed rates, and temperatures, as well as performing quality inspections for flash, shorts, and deformations. The successful candidate will ensure on-time completion, quality, and cost targets are met for the implementation of new injection mold machine setups and operations. Additionally, the role involves creating procedures, work instructions, and protocols as required, while improving productivity and reducing scrap/reject rates through automation, tool/process improvements, effective training of production personnel, and process enhancements.

    Responsibilities

    + Set up and operate 300-ton Arburg injection mold machines.

    + Adjust and monitor pressure, feed rates, and temperatures.

    + Perform quality inspections for flash, shorts, and deformations.

    + Meet on-time completion, quality, and cost targets.

    + Create procedures, work instructions, and protocols as needed.

    + Improve productivity and reduce scrap/reject rates through various enhancements.

    Essential Skills

    + 5+ years of manufacturing experience operating or setting up plastic injection mold machines.

    + 5+ years of experience in changing molds and setting up proper feed, pressure, and temperature.

    + Experience troubleshooting various process issues, including shorts, flashes, and discoloration.

    + Knowledge of plastic materials and various poly's.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Associate's degree or certificates in robotics, automation, or injection molding processing.

    + Experience with Arburg brand machinery.

    + Forklift and crane certification.

    Work Environment

     

    This position is open on the first shift from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm. Candidates should be comfortable working this shift for 2-3 months until transitioning to a 7:00 am to 3:30 pm schedule. The work setting is fast-paced and team-driven, emphasizing lean systems and continuous learning.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Elgin, Illinois.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $34.00/hr.
