We are seeking an experienced drainage engineering leader who specializes in transportation infrastructure projects, including highways, interchanges, and shared-use facilities. The ideal candidate will be skilled in hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, stormwater system design, and erosion control planning. Proficiency in OpenRoads Designer, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D is essential for delivering accurate and compliant designs. The role requires adeptness in managing multidisciplinary teams, ensuring quality control, and serving as a trusted technical liaison for clients. A passion for driving innovative solutions for flood control and sustainable water management is highly desirable.
Responsibilities
+ Lead drainage engineering teams on transportation projects, including freeways, interstates, interchanges, urban and rural highways, and shared-use facilities.
+ Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses to support the design and construction of transportation infrastructure, public and private site developments, and flood control projects.
+ Design drainage systems, including storm sewers, culverts, detention/water quality facilities, bridge deck drainage, river hydraulics, bridge hydraulics, and roadside ditches.
+ Coordinate and oversee the work of the assigned design team to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to project requirements.
+ Perform design and oversee preparation of plans and details using OpenRoads Designer, AutoCAD, and/or Civil 3D.
+ Produce and ensure quality control of erosion control and/or stormwater management plans, reports, quantities, and specifications.
+ Serve as lead drainage technical liaison with clients on project efforts.
+ Manage local drainage engineering staff.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Water Resources Engineering
+ Minimum of 10 years of drainage design experience related to transportation infrastructure projects
+ Ability to lead effectively in a collaborative team environment and foster strong, positive relationships with both team members and clients
+ Local county and municipality project experience
+ Licensed Utah Professional Engineer
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Master’s Degree in Civil or Water Resources Engineering
+ Experience working with Utah Department of Transportation
+ Bridge scour revetment design
+ Demonstrated work experience with hydrologic and hydraulic computer programs including HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, and SRH-2D

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $110000.00 - $175000.00/yr.
