Microbiologist – Clinical Research
Job Type: Contract
We’re looking for a driven and detail-oriented Microbiologist to lead experimental research and method development in a dynamic clinical setting. As the sole microbiologist on the team, you’ll play a pivotal role in designing and executing studies, guiding scientific strategy, and collaborating across disciplines to advance innovation in microbiology.
Key Responsibilities
+ Independently and collaboratively design experiments aligned with scientific protocols
+ Perform high-precision lab techniques including sample prep, data collection, and analysis
+ Lead small-scale projects and oversee technical assignments for staff
+ Operate and maintain complex laboratory instrumentation
+ Analyze data using statistical tools and translate findings into actionable insights
+ Prepare technical documentation, presentations, and publications for internal and external audiences
+ Review and validate data accuracy, completeness, and integrity
+ Develop and refine methods, test plans, and experimental designs
+ Coordinate cross-functional teams and manage project timelines
+ Communicate project status and contribute ideas to improve workflows
+ Maintain thorough records of procedures and results
+ Present research findings clearly and effectively to diverse audiences
+ Ensure compliance with quality control and standard operating procedures
+ Participate in peer reviews and quality assurance activities
+ Stay current with emerging microbiological techniques and trends
Qualifications
+ Degree in Microbiology with 3+ years of experience in a clinical or hospital lab
+ Proficiency in plating, culture, media preparation, and mass spectrometry
+ Strong leadership in protocol troubleshooting and optimization
+ Master’s degree preferred; Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years of experience accepted
+ Demonstrated ability to lead research projects and contribute to publications
+ Experience managing resources and timelines within R&D environments

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
