ABOUT WOODLAND AND JOB CORPS CENTER
The Woodland Job Corps Center provides students with the opportunity to earn their High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED), and hands-on training in the following areas: Electrical Wiring, Carpentry, Building Construction Technology, Culinary Arts, Advanced Training - Culinary Arts and Hotel & Lodging. We also assist students with job placement upon completion of their educational and career technical training.

POSITION SUMMARY Assists in providing preventative and ongoing maintenance of Center facility, grounds and systems. Basic knowledge of Plumbing, HVAC and Electrical a plus!
Maintenance Technician works alongside Maintenance Helpers on our Center.
A Maintenance Technician would be responsible for interacting with third-party contractors who are assigned to complete facilities maintenance tasks at our Center.
Other duties include checking the maintenance ticketing system and ensuring the timely completion of tasks within 3 business days.
Schedule: Monday to Friday 7:00am to 4:00pm. MANAGEMENT & SUPERVISION May supervise Job Corps’ Work-Based Learning assigned to the department for on-the-job-training.
RESPONSIBILITIES o Performs repair and preventive maintenance to facility and building systems on Center.o May inspect the work of other maintenance personnel.o Researches and recommends purchase of replacement equipment as needed.o May be asked to oversee the training activities of students assigned to the maintenance area.o May be asked to oversee the activities and quality of performance of outside contractors performing repairs and/or replacement of equipment.o Conducts periodic inspections of building systems and equipment to ensure working quality.o May coordinate activities with the Facilities Maintenance vocational training program, if applicable.o Completes work orders as assigned in a timely manner.o Provides student transport as necessary.o Produces quality work/assignments in a thorough, timely and accurate manner.o Maintains appropriate personal attendance, accountability and work productivity standards.o Plans, prioritizes and organizes assignments to meet established goals and deadlines.o Understands and applies job knowledge to effectively complete all required job responsibilities. Proactively maintains the skills required to perform job duties.o Mentors, monitors and models the Career Success Standards as required by the PRH.o Shows respect and courtesy to students and holds them accountable for their actions and behavior.o Provides quality services for students and ensures that quality is maintained and student needs are met. Pursues improvement and enhancement of requisite services.o Exchanges ideas and information, both orally and in writing, in a clear and concise manner and contributes meaningfully to group efforts by offering relevant ideas and knowledge. Provides quality and timely information to DOL/Company when requested.o Effectively articulates thoughts and ideas. Identifies problems, analyzes causes and evaluates appropriate solutions prior to taking or recommending actions. Follows up to ensure prompt/appropriate action is taken and that problems are in fact corrected.o Works in partnership with staff from all Departments to ensure effective supervision and services are provided to students.o Accepts direction and supervision from the Center Director/Center Duty Officer/Shift Manager to include assignments to temporarily perform job responsibilities of other departments and positions.o Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE High School Diploma or equivalent required. Advanced degrees preferred. Minimum one yearexperience in building maintenance required. Technical certificate preferred. Working knowledgeof carpentry, plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC systems, boilers and other building systemspreferred. Must possess a valid in-State Drivers License and meet Company insurabilityrequirements.
Physical requirements include sitting, standing, climbing, walking, lifting, pulling and/or pushing,carrying, reaching, stooping and crouching. Demonstrates the ability to lift 40 pounds and / or theability to assess the lift load in order to ask for necessary assistance.
