Ophthalmic Technician We are currently seeking a skilled and compassionate Ophthalmic Technician to join our patient-focused clinical team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to delivering high-quality care to a diverse patient population. Overview: The Ophthalmic Technician plays a key role in supporting ophthalmologists by preparing patients for exams, performing diagnostic testing, and maintaining clinical efficiency. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to interact professionally with patients and colleagues. Core Responsibilities: Patient Care & Clinical Support: Provide accurate, compassionate care to patients of all backgrounds. Display high proficiency in obtaining detailed patient histories. Prepare patients thoroughly for physician appointments. Interact with patients in a professional and empathetic manner. Assist with rooming patients and transporting them within the facility. Properly assist patients with physical or visual impairments. Diagnostic Testing & Imaging: Perform visual field testing (Humphrey, Octopus, Goldman). Conduct ophthalmic imaging including OCT, HRT, Pachymetry, Topography, Specular Microscopy, and IOL Master. Execute additional diagnostic procedures such as lensometry, keratometry, refractometry, tonometry, and manual A-scans. Maintain clinical competence in imaging and testing equipment. Administrative & Technical Duties: Accurately enter patient data into the Electronic Medical Record (EMR). Complete medical forms and document symptoms, complaints, and medications. Ensure medication and supply expiration dates are monitored and updated. Adhere to protocols for handling drug samples and maintaining logs. Stock and disinfect examination rooms regularly. Assist with coordination of clinical research studies. Perform related patient services and support tasks as needed. Communication & Collaboration: Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and team members. Demonstrate professionalism, tact, and diplomacy in all interactions. Collaborate with physicians and other technicians to ensure smooth clinic operations. Instruct patients on proper eye care and post-visit instructions. Other Expectations: Travel may be required to support staffing needs at other clinical locations. Maintain punctuality, professionalism, and attention to detail. Use job-related software and systems proficiently. Participate in special projects or other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in an ophthalmic or clinical setting. Strong knowledge of ophthalmic terminology and procedures. Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) preferred. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a team. High level of interpersonal skills and discretion in handling confidential information. Creative problem-solving and adaptability in clinical situations.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45000.00 - $68000.00/yr.
